Who does Plaza Services collect for?2022-04-25T05:43:23-04:00

Plaza Services purchases portfolios of accounts from a range of local and national creditors. Why am I not working with my original creditor?2022-04-25T05:45:37-04:00

When accounts become delinquent or otherwise distressed, they are frequently sold to investors such as Plaza Services. This helps creditors restore balance to their budgets and mitigate the financial losses caused by nonpayment of accounts. Plaza Services purchases accounts from original creditors and becomes the new creditor. We work with independent collection agencies and law firm partners who contact consumers to collect accounts on our behalf. If you would like to confirm that the collection agency or law firm contacting you is working on Plaza’s behalf, please call our office at 877-475-1103 for verification.

Why is the “Open Date” on my credit report different from when I actually opened the account?2022-04-25T05:47:57-04:00

The credit bureaus require Plaza to report the date of acquisition as the “Open Date.” This is the date Plaza Services became the creditor, not the date the original account was opened with the original creditor. Please know that this “Open Date” does not affect how long our tradeline may appear on your credit report. Please see Credit Bureau Reporting for more information.
